We stock a wide range of construction fixings for anchoring into concrete, masonry and steelwork. Our range includes through bolts, anchor bolts, sleeve anchors, shield anchors, drop-in anchors, wire hangers, and chemical resin anchoring systems. Available in zinc plated, galvanised, and stainless steel depending on type, suitable for both internal and external structural applications.

What is the difference between a through bolt and a sleeve anchor?
A through bolt (wedge anchor) expands at the base when tightened and is designed for use in solid concrete. It provides high pull-out resistance and is a permanent fixing. A sleeve anchor has a full-length expanding sleeve that grips along the hole depth, making it suitable for both solid and hollow materials including blockwork and brickwork.
When should I use a chemical resin anchor instead of a mechanical fixing?
Chemical resin anchors are used where mechanical expansion fixings are unsuitable — such as close to edges, in cracked or weak concrete, or where very high loads are required. The resin bonds the stud to the substrate without expansion force, reducing the risk of splitting. They are also used for post-installed connections in structural retrofitting.
What construction fixings are available in stainless steel?
Through bolts, sleeve anchors, shield anchors, and drop-in anchors are all available in A4 stainless steel for external and corrosive environments. Stainless fixings are commonly specified for coastal structures, water treatment plants, tunnels, and food processing facilities where zinc plated or galvanised finishes would corrode.
